EPIPHANY! The Perfect Spring Foundation Application :)

A few days ago, I was in a rush for the first time in ages and I couldn't be bothered with liquid foundation so I grabbed my favourite powder the MAC MSF (which I haven't used in ages thanks to P15P) and my MAC 109.. and had an epiphany!

Step 1: Wash face with Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish - this gives you the smoothest base/skin, and over time will get rid of minor scars and redness.

Step 2: Moisturize - I use Botanic's Day Shift Cream, as this is very hydrating and meant for dry skin (I have combo skin). Try and use one that isn't mattifying, or one that takes a bit longer to sink in to your skin.

Step 3: Load the MAC 109 with the MAC MSF, and swirl on your face in sections. Combined with the smooth palette of a face from Liz Earle's cleanser and the hydration from the moisturizer, it creates a light-medium coverage with an incredibly flawless finish.

This has made me realise how clogged and full-on liquid foundation can feel without us knowing because we use it all the time. I love love love this combo because it's so light, and it gives me a very natural effect, and both of these are perfect for the light sunshine-y weather we've been having here in the UK. What a breather!

All 3 products are quite popular, so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people have all 3, but maybe it's worth a try with substitutes too! Obviously what works for me doesn't work for everyone, but I'd still recommend giving it a shot :)

What do you do for a lighter but equally good foundation routine? Or what do you do for your face when you're in a rush? :)

I just realised this morning that I only have to lose one months rent from the next loan before I move out aaand I'll get my deposit back so MAC will be receiving a very large order from me lol :p I can't wait. I will def be trying out this combo, I bet it looked lovely!

  3. This sounds great! I gave up on liquid fondation last year and switched to mineral powder. It's messy, but it's so nice to have natural feeling skin, esp. in summer :) x

  4. Before I got into 'actual' foundation, I did this quite often! But with a kabuki brush because I don't own the 109. I like that MSFN has got a slight sheen to it, so it doesn't leave skin looking too flat!

  5. When I'm in a rush I skip the foundation and just put some concealer on my blemishes. I like doing this cuz sometimes foundation can be too heavy and makes my skin look worse than it does without!

  9. Hands down to Cleanse & Polish, best cleanser EVER.
I sadly can't live without foundation, even the sheerest I need to have that feeling of coverage on my face .. Expect when I'm tan, then my skin stays bare :)
    Great products yu! x
